From shape to solid

Hello!

Is there a possibility to make a one solid from several shapes which probably make closed object? The example picture is below:

I've tried "Stitch Surfaces", converting to surfaces, "Union Feature", "Unite Solids", "Create Region"... Nothing helped, maybe I was doing it not exacly how I should. What is more interesting - I managed to convert similar object via "Stitch". But it is only one exception. The rest of the buildings is not so easy. Any ideas? I would be very grateful if you could help me.

  • Hi Piotrass,

You could try using Extrude Mesh Volume. Here is an video example I made using roof surfaces and a foundation shape similar to those in your image. All items are extruded to the same elevation. This created a single mesh volume from the items extruded.

  • Unfortunately - I have to make solid, not mesh. However - thanks for help.
  • I think what is confusing it is the existing surface on level Dachy that appears to be coincident with the existing shapes on levels 40,41,42 and 45. If I only use those shapes the stitch surface works.

  • Thank you for the patientce. Unfortunately, after doing this I get the stitch surface, not stitch solid (I've taken only 40,41,42 and 45). Do you get the same? I would like to have solid, not surface.
  • It seems that this tool will create a solid if the shapes comprising the object form a 'water tight' object. If not then it will create a surface. I tested it on a simple set of shapes and that is the case. So there must be some gaps in your model. What is the source of the data?
