From shape to solid

Hello!

Is there a possibility to make a one solid from several shapes which probably make closed object? The example picture is below:

I've tried "Stitch Surfaces", converting to surfaces, "Union Feature", "Unite Solids", "Create Region"... Nothing helped, maybe I was doing it not exacly how I should. What is more interesting - I managed to convert similar object via "Stitch". But it is only one exception. The rest of the buildings is not so easy. Any ideas? I would be very grateful if you could help me.

  • Thank you for the patientce. Unfortunately, after doing this I get the stitch surface, not stitch solid (I've taken only 40,41,42 and 45). Do you get the same? I would like to have solid, not surface.
  • It seems that this tool will create a solid if the shapes comprising the object form a 'water tight' object. If not then it will create a surface. I tested it on a simple set of shapes and that is the case. So there must be some gaps in your model. What is the source of the data?

  • If you follow the method I suggested you end up with a "water tight" mesh volume. This can then be converted to a smart solid via Convert to Solid. You can also simplify the mesh first with the Cleanup Mesh tool.

  • Thank you! Finally, Extrude Mesh Volume and Cleanup Mesh tool helped me.

One more question: what do you advise me to do when I have two meshes with one shared wall (like terraced house) and I would like automatically (by selecting all of the objects) to convert them to solid? I Extrude Mesh Volume, but then I get one building instead of several buildings. Can I avoid this joining? You can see the example below:
