HiI'm wondering if the AccuDraw command "R+V" (rotate view) have been removed in MicroStation CONNECT?
I'm usually using the command when I want to rotate my drawing from top view to see the drawing
from a straight angle. You can see how I did it in the previous versions of MicroStation below.
Step 1. I snap on one of the corner of the block
Step 2. I press "O" to set the origin of the AccuDraw where I have snapped.
Step 3. I press "R+Q" (rotate quick) to set the right angle for the drawing to be straight
Step 4. At that point, I use the "R+V" command, after that I'll see my drawing straight.
If the command is gone, then my next question is, do you have any good idea how to do this in another way?
I'm just curious if this was ever fixed? I'm guessing not since it doesn't show up in my latest installation of OpenRoads Designer. I can't tell about MS Connect since I've already fixed it manually. I think it should have been logged as a defect instead of an enhancement request anyway. Funny thing is "R+V" shows up in the Help menu as if they intended it to be there and it was just forgotten about.
I believe this was previous answered as being Working As Designed.
"Defect Report # 163516 was previously raised to address a number of shortcuts keys not available in AccuDraw Shortcuts but was deemed to be "As Designed" by our development team."

Well, than its a bad design... I would like to have the RV = Rotate View back as default, and i am not the only one.
I also noticed that when using R-V (after adding it back in) the animation of the display moves much slower than it used to and much slower than using the rotate buy 2 points option. Makes me wonder if that has something to do with why they left it out. It's not so slow that it's a problem or anything, but it does seem like it's struggling for some reason.
It's always been just V, since 1994. It was designed that way because rotating to View rotation is a very basic operation. There are also shortcuts T, F and S for Top Front and Side.
For what it is worth, you can always edit your shortcuts file and make it work like you want.
I don't think you understand the difference. "V" is still there as it always has been, but "R+V" performs a completely different operation and was removed for no apparent reason. I have edited my shortcuts to add it back. The point is we shouldn't have to edit something that was removed for no apparent reason and would be extremely simple to add back in.
I really think they left it out by mistake and there is some kind of miscommunication about it. It's even still in the latest revision of the help menu, which makes it look like it was never intended to be left out.
