I can't see NearMap Images on my computer but can see them on other computers. V8i

Hello,

Recently, MicroStation V8i was re-installed on my computer and since then NearMap Images are not displayed on my computer. I can see the boundary of the image but can't see the image itself. Anyone faced similar problem before? I need your help. Thank you for any comments in advance.

Can almost guarantee you need to shorten the file location and shorten the file name of the jpg and associated jpw. Works fine once fixed.

I don't know NearMap, so I'd like to ask you in what format the images are? Are they stored on your disk or network sever as files (e.g. using iTiff or MrSid format) or they are published using WMS?

If WMS is used, can be the problem the service is secured (I suppose NearMap is commercial paid service)?

Can you also provide exact version of MicroStation you use? "V8i" is not enough, it's better to write exact build number, available in menu Help > About MicroStation.

Welcome Heeae Yang,

A few options come to mind.

First open the Raster Manager.
#1 On the bottom of this screen are numbers 1 through 8 in little rectangles that represent view 1-8. With these you can turn on/off images for any view independently.
#2 In the Level column check what level the images is placed in. Level display affects the images. In the Level Display dialog, turn that level on or move the image to a proper level.
#3 If the names of images in the Raster Manager are displayed red, then you're images can not be accessed due to unavailability of the file.

@Jan: A quick search with DuckDuckGo showed me that NearMap is an Australia based firm that provides aerial images. Never heard of them.

Hello
I have taken a quick look at NearMap specifications online, and see that it recommends the use of MicroStation Select Series 3,
however it does not say the exact version.
Can you specify the version of MicroStation you are using? It can be found in:
HELP>ABOUT MICROSTATION
the version will be in the form of:
08.XX.XXX.XXX
Could you also post a test file? Are there any messages listed in the Message Centre when this issue occurs?

Hello Jan,

The image is ".jgp" file and its version is 08.11.09.459 SELECT series 3. NearMap is image with the georeference file.
