[MS V8i SS3] Setting View Scale

I am looking for a way to set the zoom level in a view to a specific scale, say 1" = 20'.  Is there a way to do this in MicroStation?  There is a way to accomplish this in other products like ArcGIS, for instance.

  • I agree with and understand everything you said. I draw everything at a 1:1 scale and usually handle scaling at the time of printing.

I guess to answer your question, yes, I would like to emulate ArcGIS's defined-scale viewing capabilities. I am a long time MS user, but I can't think of a way to do this.

My application is this: I am comparing some planimetric CAD files against the orthophoto which they were derived from. I know that if I zoom way in I will find some discrepancies. I want to review them at a known screen scale, say 1" = 50'. If they look OK at that scale, for instance, I would "approve" them.

    Thanks for your reply.
