v8i ss3 hangs at startup when no internet connection. even when lic is checked out.
Hi, Just hangs? is there any error or alert messages? is this happening with all the files or is specific to any in particular?
Did you get any error during MS SS3 installation? Could you please review if there is any Exception logs or minidumps created? locks solid. no splash screen, no nothing. only thing that 'works' is you can move the mouse pointer around. no response to mouse clicks or kybd input. waiting 30 minutes doesn't work either. only resolve is to hold down the power switch. no ExceptionHistory folder found. did find %temp%\Bentley\ which seems like it'd be the place for logs. but it is devoid of any recent files. opening the task mgr process list prior to starting v8i-ss3-357, reveals that ustation.exe only consumes 116kb ram and 0% cpu. under normal circumstances it'd climb into 100's of mb of ram as the app and dgn file got started. still doing some trial-n-error with other resident apps.
no install errors. no specific files. no specific pc.
Hi, So this occurs in more that one computer? Can you check if there is any antivirus preventing the program from launching? Could you check if same issue happens if you disable it just temporarily? You mention something about program hanging when there is no internet connection, is this problem still taking place when there is internet access? if users do not have connection to internet did you use during installation the deployment image? In addition to Maria’s suggestions, do also try the following…
Disable Direct X 11 and reproduce the problem. Create system environment variable QV_D3DVERSION and set the value to 9
QV_D3DVERSION = 9
QV_D3DVERSION = 0/9/11
0 — software graphics
9 — Direct3D 9
11 — Direct3D 11
