Hi Everyone,
I don't know if this is an issue or if I'm having a stupid moment.
For this question I will say that I have drawings A and B.
This is top view in drawing A:
This is top view in drawing B:
Every thing in red is live in drawing A and is referenced into drawing B. I want top view to be the same in A as it is in B.
The background survey data, in grey, is a reference and has not been rotated in either drawing.
It is referenced in and is located at 0,0,0.
In drawing B, what appears to be a single red line is in fact an elevation. I go to front view and I can see it face on, which for drawing purposes is what I want.
In drawing A (the live drawing), front view rotates to what I think is back view and I am not viewing the elevation face on, making drawing changes awkward.
So, with all that said, why is view showing me 2 different things in the 2 drawings?

You're showing model A in Top view and model B in PLAN view. What happens if you change model B to also show Top view?

even if view isnt rotated mstn has been told with a keyin the north is down in one of these dgn...
keyin is = define north
I tried fixing but no luck .. without some real world file to match with ... too hard..., at first I thought it might be the acs is rotated... no joy there either...

Look at the view label. Your first screenshot has View 1 - Top, <model name>. Your second screenshot has View 1, <model name>.
MicroStation modifies the view label to show its orientation when it's one of the standard views (Top, Right, Front, ...). The label doesn't add the orientation if the view rotation is not one of the standard views. Rotate View 1 of model B to be the standard Top view.
