Hi Cezar,

maybe at fir you should provide a bit more information like MicroStation version (build number), type of design file (DGN V7, V8, DWG) or at the best case some example file. Are tags attached to normal elements or are they e.g. inside cells?

Hi Jan,
Microstation V8i version 08.11.09.655. Tags are NOT inside cells. The file must be a conversion from AutoCAD so I assumed that the tags were created in AutoCAD.

If the article mentioned by Reginald will not help, I recommend to spli this issue into a new post.

There are different ways how to make a level empty and to remove (delete or move) elements stored in the level, but what is the best way depends on what type of elements are inside level. Is it possible to post the file you work with so it can be investigated?

make the default level the active level

then try the compress under file and  choose all options

now see whats left  and  read up in help on levels and key ins for levels as mention before ...

I don't think I can post the file. It's a government owned computer I may need some approval to do that. But thanks anyway. Lorys solution to try the compress design File with all the options checked and it works. All unsused levels appearing bold were removed from the list.

I have to confess when you complained about not deleted used levels, I assumed automatically you tried to compress the file already and the result was some levels were not deleted from some reasons. It's bad to make assumptions too early based on limited information ;-)
