Elevational shadows on sheets, when are they coming to MicroStation?

From MicroStation V8i archived (2008).

Display Styles, Shadows and Sheets

Is it possible to have a 3d model referenced into a 2d sheet model (via a saved view) that maintains any display style with shadows? We want to be able to print multiple elevations with shadows all from a single sheet. What am I missing?

Simon,

This is not currently possible . I have filed CR 262218 for this issue, we will support this in the future.

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Illustration Mode Shadows

I can't  get illustration mode sadows to show up in a perspective view that I have referenced to a sheet view.  I see how to change to the different presentation modes in the reference dialog, but when I change to illustration mode with shadows, the view changes to illustration mode - and no shadows show up.  Is there something I am missing?

From EAP for those that have access to it.

Fast forward to today:

Archicad, Sketchup, Revit, VectorWorks, ... have all caught on to the importance of being able to give depth to your elevations.

The suns direction doesn't even have to be defined in the 3D model, but can simply be defined relative to the camera, so always 45°/45° whatever direction you're looking at.

This seems to have slipped through the cracks somehow.

High time to get with the program and then some!
