How can I stop Connected project window from opening on MS startup?

The simplest solution is to uninstall Bentley CONNECT using the Windows Control Panel.  Of course, that suggestion is not necessarily endorsed by Bentley Systems.

Note: Bentley CONNECT is a separate Windows application from MicroStation.  I'm not advising you to uninstall MicroStation CONNECT.

We are finding major crashing issues with uninstalling the Connection Client, where SS4 is installed alongside Connect.

I don't see why there isn't a variable to just turn off the connected project window(or if there is, where the hell i can find it), allowing the connection client and license server to run in the background without interfering with MS. If I don't want to connect projects I shouldn't be asked every time I open Microstation.

If anyone is interested, I have achieved this by setting
_USTN_CONNECT_PROJECTGUID = 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
at standards level.
This tricks ms into thinking the project already has a connect project id of nil so skips the connected project window.

This still work? I removed the registry and it doesn't startup on Windows but even with this it starts when opening powerGeopak

I'm interested as well. Is it really true that uninstalling the Connect Client relates to crashes of MicroStation? Or was this a unique issue?

There seem to be legal issues with some data collected via Connection Client outside U.S., so some of us might be forced to silence that software 100%

This is still working for me, though still leaves the connection client installed, popping up on startup etc.
We have removed the connection client from the deployment for most users. With V8i there does not appear to be any issues with crashing. With Connect, we still have only a small number of seats, testing, and have left connection client installed. It still crashes with it, I could not say if there are more without it or not.

This does not work for me in Microstation and Powerdraft SS4
