I have a number of files that have been moved/copied to another folder in order to create a different phase. While we have renamed major base files where redesign has occured we have not renamed topo, right of way, etc., files that will remain intact. But the files still have the path for the old folder that they started in i.e. A:Project1/base/ Now the new folder is: A:Project1/base/phase1. The "new" files still are "looking" at A:Project1/base.
Is there a keyin or utility that will 'make' the new phase1 dgn files look at the /phase1 folder instead of the old base/ folder?
Thank you
If your company already has projectwise this can be done very easily from in project wise right mouse

once you scan references what is the procedure to replace references?
when you run in pwise set > scan references it asks for the before and after and then harvests and changes all instances of the old for the new where ever the old was originally attached so you dont have to tell it where to look for changes... just input names... whereas the excellent vba suggested you have to tell it which drawings need to have old file replace with new file and where to find new file...this is very good but I found when no pwise and had to run another macro first ( you can search here) report references it scans selected folders and lists all ref attachements and output to csv where you can then search in excel to the desired ref... armed with this report you can then use the refrename vba to make all the changes for you... not as good as pwise but a lot cheaper...and you get a report for QA to show what you need to change...
Personally it would be easier to archive the old file and replace it with new file in the same path with the same name you could just edit the model description with rev and reasons, also you can use win 7 or 10 explorer to add name title or tag for this sort of thing and make it visible in mst manager...
