CE - File New (Customise)

I want to be able to customize the File menu.  In V8i I use to add items to this File menu that linked to VBAs i.e.

File New (Model/Sheet),

File Print (A3)

File Print (PDF)

File Issue

I want to be able to do the same in CE.  Thus, the file menu needs to be customizable.  In the mock up below, I have shown some items I would normally setup for my clients.  Each of these will call up and load a VBA.  These tools save the clients a lot of time.  Hence I would like the same option in CE.  But not via the Quick Access toolsbar

Thank you

  • Hi Ian,
    Greetings!

I am trying to understand your requirement,

New (Model / Sheet) - Can you explain this requirement? You usually create a model after creating and opening a dgn file. Backstage is a place where commands logically grouped , which are required "to" make some setting / changes to "DGN File". It is not meant for tools to make changes "within" file.
You can add a button by customizing ribbon.

File Issue : Which key ins are executed under "File issue". How it is used?

  • Hi Sumit

Basically, behind each of the tools that are shown in red are a series of keyins.  Each tool will load/run either a VBA or a .net script.  In V8i, I change the File menu to add these options in red.   But in CE, we cannot customise this interface.....

    The File new tools will be something like this;

    2d/3d model files

    2d sheets

The above tools will change the folder paths depending on the file type selected.  It can also force users to use a similar file naming convention.

The file Issue tool, is very similar, but offers the users the ability to create flattened DGNs, DWG and PDF files.
