Hello,
I have a ground model which is made up of triangles.
I want to project a 2d plan footprint onto it.
One way to do it in the old days was to extrude the plan shape in the z-direction and use the trim surfaces command to draw the line where the two surfaces intersect.
For some reason, this option is now removed from the command - does anybody know where it is now ? Can't believe Bentley would remove such a useful feature.
Failing that, how can I trim one surface to a surface made from multiple (not-grouped or stitched) triangles.
BUT WHAT I'D REALLY LIKE IS THE COMMAND THAT ALLOWS ME TO PROJECT THE 2D PLAN ONTO THE 3D TRIANGLES
(The word "drape" is jumping round my head)
Thanks

Have you tried the 'Stencil 2D Elements on 3D Geometry' tool. Further information can be found in the help and in other forum posts, but here is a simple example.
