Prior to Update-1 opening files and click on the "file" button and waiting for the side bar to open and change screens was slow (much worse then V8i) I know Ian and others started lots of threads on the subject.
After Update-1 it's significantly worse for me is anybody else having this experience? I'm navigating to files on my desktop not even on a network and the task manager will display Connect as not responding then pull itself out of crashing and open the file.

did you try to delete all the "files icons" in the Recent files list?
