CE U1: Multi-snap icon missing from message fields

In CE U1, if you set e.g. Multi-snap1 as either the active or the default snap, does the icon go missing from the message fields?

Is it something I did or do others have the same result?

       

Multi-snap 2 and 3 are missing from the pop-up panel as active snaps, though they can be set as default snap.

Keyboard shortcut: +L, no idea how that's supposed to work really.

Much less how you're supposed to use the (MS1) tooltip you get hen you hover over the multi-snap 1 icon on that panel.

Is it just my machine or is this standard behavior for CE U1?

    Hi Koert,

    I have tested what you described and yes once you make the Multi-Snap 1 active there is no icon in the message field, I see the same behaviors in SS4 and other V8i versions.


    Multi-Snap 1, Multi-snap2 and Multi-Snap 3 are the only icons that do not display in the message field in my case. I am also using windows 7, 64 bits. As you mentioned changing the text and icon size from Windows seems to solve the issue. I have created a wiki article here


    Regarding Multi-Snap 2 and 3 options these options are not available from the pop up panel directly as Multi- Snap 1, you have to use default snaps button instead to get these options.

    Yes Maria,

    the same bug is apparently also present in V8i SS4, maybe in other versions as well.
    Setting the Text and Icon size to 100% in Win7 64-bit, "solves" the problem in all versions I tested.

    Of course using 100% Text and Icon size isn't desirable in all cases. The multi-snap icons are the only ones that are affected by this phenomenon. So yes, I would expect to see the multi-snap icon at 125% text and icon size, just like I see them at 100%.

    I know I can activate multi-snap 2 as the default snap, however this is not convenient.
    A panel that requires 3 clicks to activate multi-snap 2, use that snap, and then another 3 clicks to activate multi-snap 1 again should only be used by people with too much time on their hands.
    With the button bar this process is just one click. Without button bar, in V8i it's 2 clicks, in CE 6 clicks, which is ridiculous.

    You should be able to add other snap modes to that pop-up panel, just like you can with the snaps toolbar.
    I don't see a way to customize that pop-up panel. Is it even possible?

    Hi Koert,

    I was able to add these Multi-Snap options  using the Customize Quick  Access Toolbar (choose components from Toggle Buttons)

    This way you can have available these two Multi-Snaps
