Very slow element selection is sheet models

Which MicroStation build are you using? V8i or CONNECT?
Is it possible to share your file where you are experiencing this problem?

V8i SS3 459. I've since upgraded the team that were having issues to SS4 and at the moment I can't recreate the issue. I know I've had this problem before so will try and dig out a drawing that has the issue.

I have  experienced the same  problem especially selection by window,  but selection by  line  doesnt  take same time for same  number elements..

I can sometimes fix this by  shut down pc and restart mstn completley  .. I think it gets tired sometimes hahaha ... no I dont  know why but it works 3/5 times when msnt behaves strangely  to close down and restart...and  problem gone... I think I've been working with It people for too long  "....have you tried rebooting..? "
