Or if I recall correctly you can Create a 3D model, attach point cloud, set clip volume or display depth if you want, and then reference that to your 2D model.

I would agree with Jon and would create a new 3D model and attach the POD file.

Could you specify the version of MicroStation (xx.xx.xx.xx) you are currently using?

The file formats that can be attached for conversion to POD format in MicroStation, are as follows:

DGN file is a container. It contains on or more DGN models. A model can be 2D or 3D. Once a model is created, you can't convert it to a different dimensionality. A DGN file can contain both 2D and 3D models.

Thanks for your reply.
The Lidar files that I have are .rrd, .tmp and .mxd.
I am currently working in a 2D microstation file and point cloud data only works in 3D files.
Is there a way I can convert over to a 3D file?

Hello,
Could you specify the file format you are using?
The ability to reference Point Cloud data in POD format is available in MicroStation.
Other supported formats can be converted to POD file format before being attached.

The Point Cloud tools can be found in:
Tools>Point Clouds
