Too simplistic for MS?

"WordPress's development is guided by a set of unwavering principles. They are:

  • Work Out of the Box
  • Design for the Majority
  • Decision not Options
  • Clean, Lean, and Mean
  • Strive for Simplicity
  • Deadlines are not Arbitrary
  • Be Mindful of the Vocal Minority"

  • I think the point is MicroStation seems to be developed exactly the opposite of this. Is development given a established set of design principles?
  • I follow the 'The Foundry' community more than I follow this community and although I am still learning Modo, I find that I cannot keep up with the pace of development of their core product, Modo. They listen to the core users and develop cutting edge tools, utilities and have some cracking developer add-ins.
I appreciate it is not a CAD application, but a fantastic product non the less, I think that Bentley could learn a lot by following the development of this product and interaction between this community and The Foundry team.

I have been a user of Microstation for about thirty years and I have seen very little in the way of requests for information about what the users produce in terms of deliverables, in my mind if you don't know what the end user are producing then how can you develop tools / utilities.

I have to say that the low cost and quality of the (Foundry) learning materials is amazing.

Yes I know, I'm the grumpy one that pitches in periodically.
