[V8i] How to solve visualisation issues with custom line styles

Hello,

we've created a custom line style (see following image) with a simple line and half circles on it.

As you can see in my simple example there is a overhang of the point element on the top vertex that is quite unpleasant for our maps.

Is there any possibility to define the line style in a way that the point elements are cut in such a case?
I may change direction or move the starting point but that wouldn't solve it for more complex linestrings or shapes.

See how we defined the cell for the line style:

Thank you in advance, hope someone can help,

Maik

  • Thanks, your approach would be good for the simple example I was showing above.

But unfortunately we got larger polygon with plenty of vertices and changing the linestyle to solve issues on one vertex might cause new problems on other vertices.
What I could do is changing the stoke line to Option 'single element' but that would cause an irregular appearance of these half circles.

What I was searching for is an option or a way to get the point symbols cut on vertices as it works on lines end when I activate the 'Clip Partial' Option.
  • You should be aware that you can Shift the Line Style along the path so it does not appear like that.
You also have options to adjust the Dash or Gap Scale slightly also to avoid that.
There are 3 settings under "Partial" that will affect the display of the (halfcircle) symbol at the beginning or end of a linear element. This will not affect vertices (joints) though.
