Hi Mary, I'm talking about the right/left mouse button click.

Thanks for the hint to the two tentative clicks, I wasn't aware of having to click on both elements to find the intersection. I don't think I needed this back in the days when fences were drawn for printing with tentative clicks.

When you say "Tentative Snap" do you mean an actual manual snap with the mouse buttons, or just the automatic Accusnap?

An actual manual Intersection snap is really looking for two elements to intersect, so it takes two tentative clicks (one for each element). While this can be annoying when the elements are obviously crossing each other, it's awesome for finding "projected" intersections, of elements that don't actually cross.

I have the same problem. AccuSnap is active, intersection snap, too, but when placing a tentative snap it's just on either of the lines somewhere near the intersection. Am I missing some important step?

Loys, great suggestion. Thank you very much for you work-a-round to my problem. I am not accustomed to using the keyboard for snaps but I will definitely try it!

Thank you David. You are correct about the defect. I have always used Multi-Snap 3 but since my new upgrade of MicroStation last week, it no longer functions. Kindest of regards.

I dont use the multisnap, I have the keypoint snap set with double click, and if I want Centre or Intersection, as I'm always using the smartline or smart tools and accusnap and accudraw set , then to get centre I use the keyboard C , or I for intersect and the accusnap does the rest... works for me all the time , I only use the tangent snas occasionally so clicking when needed isnt a bother....( v8i ss3)

This may be related to a known defect:

My suggestion seeing as you are not using Multi-Snap 2 would be to switch to that snap mode.

You are correct, but now I am realizing that it may not be tentative snap but my snap lock is not working.

Here are my settings when I open MicroStation

I double click to activate and lock my Multi-Snap 3

Now I click on the line command

Notice the Multi-Snap 3 is no longer active

I have checked my Locks settings

I select the Multi-Snap 3

Note that the Mode does not display My selection but the Multi-Snap 3 is temporarily activated

If I select any single snap the Mode does lock in place

but when I double click Multi-Snap 1 or 3, the Mode goes blank.

Toggle AccuSnap is active but when I click to activate Tentative Snap, the Snap icon disappears. The Tentative Snap command temporarily stops the Snap command so Tentative Snap is no snapping to the intersect location.
