In a 2D model of a dgn file with a 3D model referenced. The referenced 3D model has linestrings representing pavement lines that I want to copy parallel into my active file. When doing so, Microstation seems to consider the vertical aspect of the 3D linestrings and thus creates offset distances that aren't simply measured in plan view. Should I expect this behavior? Since I'm in a 2D model, I would have expected Microstation to ignore the vertical component when doing the copy parallel.
I'm able to workaround by first saving my 3D model to 2D and then use the copy parallel tool using this. Wondered if there was another, more intelligent way to solve this problem.
You may need to copy the linestring into the 2D file first.
This should result in a 2D linestring which you can then Move Parallel.
