Overlapping Dashed Lines Appear Solid

Good Morning,

I am creating drainage areas using a dashed linestyle and I am having issues with my overlapping lines. I would like to keep my shapes for easier calculations, but anywhere the shapes overlap the lines are coming out solid. In ACAD as ong as the vertices match, the lines show up correctly, which does not seem to be the case in MS. Is there a setting or tool I can use that will allow me to keep my shapes while also showing the lines as dashed?

This is a let's call it none wysiwyg" internal line style. What do you like to achieve if you produce your end product? Maybe a PDF print or paper print. Then the line style is driven by the print drivers.
Try some of the acad line style that comes with microstation or use an acad style.

Hi Frank
No matter what Line Style you use, you are going to have issues with overlapping sides. Custom Line Styles give you some additional tools that the Default LineTypes (1-7) do not, like Shifting, Scaling, etc. But the only sure way to make sure that you don't have Line Styles stepping on each other, is to not have any overlapping. Remove the overlapping areas. i.e. Partial delete!
