Martin

Hi Mary
Have you tried combining key-in's that do what you want, and place it on a Function key, or button. like:
view on 3;copy view;selview 1;selview 3;copy view;selview 2; selview 1; copy view;selview 3; selview 2; view off 3
This turns on a view (i.e. 3) to act as storage and just copies one view to another, then turns off the extra view. This works if it is only certain views you have on/off

If you don't save settings the file should display back the way the settings were Saved when you close and reopen the file so it shouldn't affect others.

RE: Swap views between windows?

Sorry, Daniel, but this isn't about level display status. From what I am reading you are looking for the "Apply to Selected View" button that is in your Level Display window in the top left. Your solution actually moves views between application windows/monitors/screens, and that is not what I want to do. That could create confusion with some of the rest of my coworkers if I forget to set everything back the way it was.

RE: Swap views between windows?

It seems like you want the application windows to swap screens rather than just the View Windows 1-8. If you want the application windows to switch then I think you would need some 3rd party software or display card utility where you can define which monitor application windows are displayed on.

It's confusing because you talk about view 1 and needing to physically move windows from one screen to the other. The keyin I provided will swap the view (1-8) windows from one screen to the other without needing to physically move them (other then pressing a button).

RE: Swap views between windows?

I am aware of that keyin - I use it a lot when I get into drawings for the first time to set them up "right". I guess I was hoping that I wouldn't have "physically" move the windows from one screen to the other. Around here, most people set up View 1 to be the "plotting" view with overrides and levels on/off (not my preference but there it is). I'd hate to run into any weirdness stemming from my accidentally leaving the wrong view on the "wrong" monitor. I was hoping there was something that would just swap display, not actual view windows. but thanks, that would give me something close to what I want.

RE: Swap views between windows?

Or you can use a Keyin "copy view" mapped to a function key F1-12 and then it's on the fly selecting the original view to destination view. Window ChangeScreen View 1- will change the application windows that view 1 is in. You can add others like Window ChangeScreen View 2. I have my F1 function key set to switch view 1 because some people in our office work on the right screen. Most of us use the left screen as the main working area.

RE: Swap views between windows?

Hi Mary

I think the use of 'View Groups' might work for you. These save the views, the view locations and zooms. Once set they are available via the view group options which is by default located in the bottom left.
