Hi,I've got simple question - to ilustrate it i've prepared an example:In .dgn file I have a lot of green, red and blue lines. Is it possible to create raport with total lenth (in this case separate outcome for every color or level)?is it any tool to calculate elements in file?MS SS3; but version of MS is not important - I can update it.BRJan
Cheers,
Erik M.
Hi Jan, In SS3 you can use power selector to select all the green ones and create a graphic group with a name like "Green" Do the same for all the other colours. So with a simple graphic group select you'll get all the elements associate to the group. With the selection measure with 9 - 4 keys you'll get full length, select it and use CRTL+C. Go to excel and create a collumn with colour, and in the second collumn paste the value of the length. Repeat the same for other colour. For your example you should update for CE, in the new version you have real reports. You can use filter to grab elements for a specific property like colour. Then you can export into Excel to create a summary report as you desire. Regards

FlexiTable can create reports about DGN models in MicroStation V8i. You can harvest element metrics including length, area and volume. You can filter data acquisition by levels. FlexiTable can save its worksheets in several formats, including Excel.

I dont think one needs to create a graphic group, just to get the lengths of specific coloured elements or levels, just use the power selector by level name and or colour and type ie lines or shapes, etc and deselect what you dont want harvested ie circles yellow etc and the measure tool will give the total length of the selection criteria which can be copied from the message centre or the measure tool itself.. then paste into excel for reporting the same can be done for areas of shapes polygons etc
I use this all the time to measure pavement types areas for costing of road works and checking of areas for subdivisions add up to total so no overlaps double counts etc...
