Non-coplanar polygons to co-planar polygons in MicroStation select series 3

We are working on building roofs, all roofs should be in coplanar without any gaps between the roof polygons( no snapping errors). We need to select one roof polygon then the other roofs should automatically adjust with co-planar with the selected roof polygon without any gaps ( 2D and 3D), and without any disturb in the snapping.

We tried to adjust the non-planar roofs to planar (using Micro Station select series3) but we are getting snapping errors between the roof polygons. Please help us to solve this issue. We need to adjust automatically by selecting the roof polygons

  • Good morning Jaggala,

You're aware that the top polygon has all four vertices in different elevation? And the bottom align of the four only two as the same elevation. Is this intended?

Why not create a shape with the four vertices that already are present?

    Regards

    José

  • Yes, the polygon all four vertices are different elevations. The production already done. we need to correct automatically with adjacent touched polygon (having co-planar). Need to adjust automatically the XYZ with out any snapping issues between the polygons. It is allowable to adjust all the touched polygons.
The main requirement is to correct all the non-coplanar polygons to co-planar with small XYZ adjustments, with out any snapping issues between the polygons. Please provide me a solution.

Can you create an example of what you want it to look like after making it coplanar we have  your before  we need an after...

does it matter to you if it all becomes 2d?

are all the roof polygons in your problem orange or on a different  level name to the other line work?

Is there a the  base polygon ie on ground or only sides?

how many  of these do you have to fix approx?

Do you have access to Autocad?

Solution I have in in mind will depend on your answers...

  • Hi Lorys,

We are very happy to see your reply. Please find below our answers for your questions, and also please find attached sample dgn before and after.

No, we need the 3D data, need to adjust XY and Z also.

are all the roof polygons in your problem orange or on a different  level name to the other line work?

All roof polygons are having the problem of non-coplanar.

Is there a the  base polygon ie on ground or only sides?

Need to  correct major roof polygon then considering as that as the base polygon. With reference to this polygon we need to adjust remaining polygons.

how many  of these do you have to fix approx?

Depending upon the building complexity, we need to fix approximately 1000 roofs.

Do you have access to Autocad?

    No.

    Thanks and regards,
