Even Left or Right click doesn't release selection

Question

I'm using Microstation V81 (Select series 2) and suddenly Left or Right click doesn't release selection, just the modify element can do it, it's very inconvenient! I don't know how to put it back how it was.

Just a guess, have you changed the Element Selection tool to "Add" mode...you want "New" mode, see below image:

I use 
 powerselector deselect; 
 either in an F key or associated as X16 button mouse and use both L& R together .. I prefer the middle button used for tentative.. 
 But F key works pretty good and fast!.. afterall the left hand aint doing much may as well us it for FKeys!
