How to reference a file on a different drive?

Hi,

This is a common thing that I do.  I can easily do this in Microstation v8i SS3, but in Microstation 10 ( Update 3) I can NOT do this.  I want to reference in a file from a different drive.  The only "catch" is that there is a file with the same name in the same folder as the file I have open.

To recreate the steps:
1) Create a new file called "Referenced File.dgn".  (On my demo, this was on the E local drive.)
2) On a different drive (either local or network), create a new file named "Referenced File.dgn". (On my demo, this was on the C local drive.)
3) Create a new file called "Master File.dgn" in the same folder as step 2 above.
4) Open "Master File.dgn" in Microstation Connect and reference in the file from step 1 above.  (On my demo, the reference was from the E drive).
5) Verify the path of your reference file--you will see the file from step 2 instead of step 1.  (On my demo, the C drive file instead of the E drive file was attached.)

This is important to me because 1) each of our projects have common file names (Plan 1, Plan 2, etc.), so I want to be able to reference a file from a different project to compare or copy something from that other project, and 2) I want to be able to have two copies of a project and be able to reference them together to see the differences between them

Just out of curiosity, I looked up Autocad Xref and found instructions that say you can pick a full path, a relative path, or no path.  Microstation has always claimed to be able to everything the Autocad can plus more.  Here is the link to that help page.

This is the first time doing a screen capture video, so hopefully this screen capture works and shows what I mean.

How do I get this to work?
