I'm having the same issue in U8.

I have Optimized Fence Clipping turned on.

1 - Tested in a DGN, 2D, simply trying to cut a line with a fence clip. The result is a complex line with two handles where the fence cross.

2 - The Fence Stretch doesn't work as desired, some elements are stretched some are not. For reference, the ones that are not stretched don't have locked turn on in properties.

In which version of MicroStation?

Is your DGN model 2D or 3D? If 3D are you certain that the shapes are planar?

I have the same problem. When i make a fence in clip mode on a shape, it does not work fine.

I am working in a 3D DGN, CONNECT v10.00.00.25. I thought the shapes were planar, even new shapes I drew would not close. I exported to a 2D DGN and everything worked fine.

The file I was working in had merged reference files created from KML and ESRI Shapefiles. Also, the DGN has a defined Geographic Coordinate System.

Hi Tom,

I was not able to replicate the behavior you are describing.
Can you please elaborate on what you are doing and share a dataset:
- which CONNECT version are you using?
- are you working in a 2D or 3D file, is the file format DGN or DWG?
- are the shapes really planar?
- did you customize your environment, if so, can you try also in an 'out of the box' installation?
- are you copying data from a reference file into a master file?
- next to:
File>Settings>User>Preferences>Operation: Fence: Use Optimized Fence Clipping
also check ON:
- File>Save As> Options>Reference Tab> Allow Optimized Clip for Reference Merge
