[v8i] Prevent active level changing

Question

Hello, 
 Is there are way to prevent the active level from changing when I select an element and change its level. 
 Current behavior: Select element, use drop down to change level, element level changes and selected level is now active 
 Desired behavior: Select element, use drop down to change level, element level changes and active level remains the same

the drop down menu you are using is to set the active level - it just so happens that you can bring along a selected element to that active level when setting or selecting it. The workflow you are suggesting will not work with that menu. There have been several other workflows suggested. Another workflow would be to right mouse click on the element, go to properties and when the properties dialog opens, change the elements level there.
