Is there a way to use the delete duplicates tool without MS deleting every duplicated element?
An example would be if i had 5 lines of the same length on top of each other. I want delete duplicates to delete 4 of the 5 leaving me with just one

RE: Data Cleanup - Deleting Duplicates

Maybe this will help, I'm not sure why its not working like I want it to.
You can test your results with this command by using select instead of delete, then moving the selection set out of the way.

RE: Data Cleanup - Deleting Duplicates

George A. Then You decide what to do with the Duplicate Elements (i.e. Delete, Move, ???). M-Sta. would not be (Selecting) changing the original element, just the duplicates it finds in View 1 (Process View 1). If levels are off in View 1 it will not find them.

The Duplicates tab will tell M-Sta. what Element Types to compare, and what attributes to compare/Match (i.e. same Level, Color, Weight, etc.)

I've attached a sample dgn and screen shots of my cleanup tool window settings.

The line work you see is from a dwg that has been merged.

I tested it myself just before I wrote this. I don't know why your utility seems to be behaving differently. Could you possibly share a sample file or perhaps a screenshot of your Data Cleanup settings?
