Microstation V8i (Select Series 3) V 08.11.09.459
How to do I reset my mouse for the dynamic pan - 'Shift' + Data (Left Mouse). Somehow this process now does 'Element Select Fence'.
I have already tried to remap mouse Button X1 to Left Button-Right Button Chord but this doesn't change anything.
Thanks in advance because I use this a lot and it's frustrating to be without!
Go to Workspace > Button Assignments > find the button combination you want (i.e. Shift+Data) In the Action for Button: Shift+Data key-in "Pan Scroll" - No "" You can Tab to another field to see the change in the listing below, then "OK" to save it for the Button Menu you have attached (i.e. default.btnmenu) in the header of the "Button Assignments" dialog. You also have the option under "File > Save As" to create your own button menu.
I Hope This Helps Someone Reading This! (Intergraph>PseudoStation>MicroStation user since 1980's)

I agree the panning using mouse wheel button is better ("acadpan" term is probably confusing for many users), but I also know some users that simply don't want to leave the old way using Shift + Data point.

The button (wheel) should not be hold during panning. In fact, it's worse than "click mouse wheel, pan, click the wheel again to accept and stop panning (or reset button for return to an original state)" is better, because it allows to use the wheel for zooming during the panning.
