Migrating from V8i ss4 to Connect update 4

I am having great difficulty with modifying a non parametric 3D model in Connect edition, if I cut a solid and delete the cut line everything disappears.

Is there a way of replicating the work space an methods I used in V8i withConnect edition of Microstation

    I am afraid I have a very large number of items, having been a relatively competent user of V8i for many years, see my web site www.francisdesign.com , I am finding the transition to Connect extremely painful. Is there somebody who is prepared to give me some guidance?

    Hello Martin

    Regarding the cutting of the solid, could it be that when you cut the solid the 'Cut Solid with Curve' tool setting 'Profile:' was defined as ' Show ' ?

    If this is the case if you select the solid you will see glyphs appear, right click on the 'cut' glyph and you can select the option ' Hide Input Element '

    Hi Carl,
     
    Thanks for getting back to me but I think I found this one.
     
    I was doing a split solid operation and have found that I needed to use the ‘copy and hide’ option to be able to use the same template for different solids that I wish to cut.
     
    All OK when you know how but when one has been using the old V8i ‘cut solid with curves’ (keep profile or not) tool for 20 years !
     
    Likewise with all the other ‘improvements’ that an old guy like me has to re-learn.
