MicroStation issues on ASUS/Win 10

Has anyone encountered, or better yet figured out how to get MicroStation to load on an ASUS/WIN 10 machine without it locking up?  I submitted a support ticket, but all roads were a DE, including a fresh load of Win 10.  Dump files did not indicate MicroStation was faltering, but simply loading the program will drive the CPU//DISC//MEMORY to peg out on the resource monitor.  I have tried 3 different ASUS machines, with the same results.  Uninstalling the program is the only way to free resources up and restore to an operational state.

    Many thanks for jumping in to help me on this Jon!
    I have tried the following - all with the same end results of the computer locking up and having to uninstall.
    08.11.09.459 in Win8 comp mode
    08.11.09.829 first edition

    I have downloaded 10.04.00.46 which is the latest version, but have not tried as yet.

    After the failed .459 install attempted yesterday, I reviewed the event manager for applications and found several entries for the protocol host and filter host not responding and were forcibly terminated.
