how can i change my mouse sensitivity from low to fast on MicroStation CONNECT Edition?

Hi, I have a question about MicroStation CONNECT. I would like to change the sensitivity of my mouse. It really moves slow but I don't know how to do. I've searched in the forum and elsewhere but I couldn't find the solution. Is there anyone who had the same problem? thank you

  • No, it happens only with the newer versions of MicroStation. I've never had any problems with other programs and even the older versions of MS worked fine. I had this problem only with CONNECT and SS3. Actually I'm using the SelectSeries 2 again because working with a new version is simply annoying. If I move an object for example it takes a lot of time to get it from point A to point B, or when I move the cursor the reaction is really slow and sluggish. So I start to think it's simply an incompatibility with my computer (maybe the graphic card?) even if it sounds weird, because the old versions worked fine
  • Hello Helmuth,

from what you describe, it sounds to me like your issues are caused by an outdated video driver.

Is this happening on a brand new PC with Windows 10, or was your Windows version upgraded from Win7/Win8/Win8.1 to Win10?

If on an older PC or laptop, it may be that your video card does not support DirectX 11 (required for CONNECT Edition) and that this is causing the slow mouse.
By any chance, are you seeing: Software Graphics displayed in the title bars of your open view(s):

If so, that indicates that your video card is not being used to drive the display of your MicroStation CONNECT Edition.
Please check if there is a newer driver version available for your video card and install that (you may need to uninstall the existing driver first).

Should (after a full restart) you still have a problem, you may test with the behavior of the CONNECT Edition by creating and setting the variable: QV_DISABLE_D3D11 to 1
After a restart of the program, that variable forces the system to use Direct3D 9 (D3D9) rather than Direct3D 11 (D3D11).
Since D3D9 is simpler than D3D11, some graphics hardware or drivers work correctly with D3D9 but not with D3D11.
However, D3D11 is faster and preferable. Try upgrading to the latest driver for your hardware before setting QV_DISABLE_D3D11.
