Hello,
I'm getting the notice 'Please install KB2999226 on your machine before initiating installation' when trying to install Update 5.
What is KB2999226?
Any idea?
Regards,
Jean-Paul Swerts
MicroStation install comes back 'Please install KB2999226 on your machine before initiating installation' . When I install KB2999226 it says it is already loaded.

Microsoft tells us that KB2999226 applies to a 32-bit (x86) operating system. So why is installation of 64-bit MicroStation app. complaining?

Thanks for your clarification! Microsoft makes it too easy for someone to download the wrong version — the same KB applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, and as I discovered you may end up with the 32-bit version.
Windows6.1-KB2999226-x64.msu
Take a look at this wiki:
https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/36596/error-please-install-kb2999226-on-your-machine-before-initiating-installation-microstation
I have uninstalled KB2999226. Installed Windows6.1-KB2999226-x64.msu. Rebooted several times. Install still says install KB2999226.
TLuke,I also kept receiving the KB message when trying to install from within the Connection center, even after installing the KB.
Perhaps you can try to continue your installation from the 'Programs and Features' panel. In my case there seemed to be 2 versions of MS CE installed (update 4 and update 7). After clicking the update 7 version I could finish the installation. After restart Update 4 is gone.
