This is an issue I've had with the Connect Edition since the original release. I quiet often have to insert images into drawings. More often than not, because of the image is usually an aerial photo, when I annotate item within the image, I have to use white text, so that it will stand out from the background. V8i and earlier editions would show the text as black in the editor, if the drawing background is set as white, and it would show it as white in the editor if the background was set to black. Connect does the opposite, showing white text on a white background or black on black, making it pretty difficult to edit anything with more than a few letters in it. Normally, I only work with V8i, but if I have to use Connect, I end up temporarily changing the color of the text in order to see it, which is an entirely unnecessary step, that generally leads to an occasional text line that was inadvertently left in its edit color rather than white. If there was a way the product developers could go back to the V8i editor in a future release, then I'd be more inclined to finally retire V8.
Something is not set correctly or there is some other issue happening here. MS Connect word processor works just as it did before with White and Black background color items flipping correctly. We have not changed that at all. Make sure you are using the Background color and not just setting the color to Black and White.

If you could point out where the settings for the text editor are, it would be helpful. I can't find them. I'm including a screen capture showing what I get when I selected the word "TEXT".
That's the text color. See the image below. In MicroStation, I generally always work with a white background.
