Good Day,
I have been having something new happen with Connect U4.
I have line strings that have been created many different ways with many vertices. As I go to delete a single vertex, the tool "delete vertex" will delete many of the vertices in the line string. It seems that it will delete about half. I have not seen this before in V8i through SS4. Is there a setting that I am missing for this tool?
Thanks!

Hi,
For me this is a very nice feature and a very very good welcome.
This shows how this works. If you delete the 2 vertex on the left now you'll get the result on the right:
In V8i you'll see this:
In this second example if you use create a region on the left one you'll get the right one. Again, this in v8i didn't happen.
I believe Bentley implemented the same logarithm that exists in Descartes to simplify the geometry. This was implemented in the first CE version back in September 2015.
This is very nice and very needed.
Regards
José
Unknown said:Can this be changed or disabled somehow through settings? I am in a position where I need the delete vertex (singular) to only delete the one vertex I click and not run a routine to try and guess what I (the user) wants.
It doesn't appear that there is a way to disable it...
By default, delete vertex shouldn't be eliminating colinear interior vertices of line strings as these are often added deliberately to serve a specific purpose. It appears that delete vertex was changed to do this back in 2014 to address a different issue that could have been addressed without also removing the colinear vertices.
At this point, whether or not colinear interior vertices are removed would need to be made a tool settings option as now we have some folks that appreciate the new behavior. I suggest contacting support and submitting a change request.
