Nested Reference Files -- Level on/off not updating

In the past I have been able to create a "master" file with all of my references and then simply attach that 1 file to my sheet file in order to simplify my life.  In this way, I can change what levels are on/off on my master file instead of needing to open all of my sheet files to adjust what levels are showing.  However, I'm having issues that when I make changes to my master file (turning on/off) those levels stay on in my sheet file.  How do I make them update with the changes to my master file?  if I reattach my master file, it updates however that eliminates the ease of using the master.  Thanks!

  • I had a way to re-build the connection between nest ref. and sheet. It works for me. open ref manager, double click on the model ref. click Browse to change the file to any random file, allow it to load in. then change it back to the correct. The level status will be updated to the latest nest ref.save time for detach - reattach and clip.

In my case, update level didn't work. somehow it will strip off all the overrides from nest.

  • one of my colleagues has had success.after editing the Master nested file...he opens drg  file sheet that has the master nest attached to the active drg model and then this is already nested into the active drg sheet model..

He whiches to the active sheet model and detaches the model space ref ( which has nesting on depth 2)  then does an  undo and it is reattached but some how is updated to the correct display.. Please note I have yet to try this as I have not got any projects with this problem yet.

But if it works  for others please publish as this would be a bonus.. but would we have to do it for every sheet... I wonder  if you could use batch processor to detach specific ref  then say undo, then file design.... might just be quicker by hand...
