Using microstation connect u5
We can export to 3d pdf and have the currently used display rule show in the pdf. But so far I have not found a way to turn of the display rule in the 3d pdf. Is it possible to turn it of so that you also would be able to show the original rendering of the geometry?

Helge
Hi Helge,
I don't think it's possible. U3D format used in 3D PDF does not allow (as far as I know) dynamic change of element attributes: It can be displayed in different modes in Adobe Reader, but always based on elements fixed attributes. Contrary to it, Display Rules in MicroStation are completely dynamic (on the fly) and do not change the elements original attrbiutes.
So I assume when printed to 3D PDF, MicroStation has to change all affected elements to a new values and their original attributes are lost.
With regards,
Jan

Hi Jan,
Okay, I guess I have to just export 2 different pdfs then. With and without the display rule.
