I tried editing the configuration variable MS_MAINMENUDOCKINGBESIDE settings from Undefined to 1 , save settings but the value remained [Undefined].
Any ideas?

Martin

Hi Cezar!

The MS_MAINMENUDOCKINGBESIDE variable is to give you docking space along side of the pull-down menu (after Help) where you can dock toolbars. It has nothing to do with Task Menu docking.

From the Help area of the Configuration dialog:

If set to a non-zero value, tool boxes and dockable dialogs may be docked alongside the main menu bar. If not set (default) or set to 0, MicroStation's main menu bar spans the entire width of the application window.

The Task Menu docking can be docked to either side and small indicator icons will appear that will allow the Task Menu to be Docked to the side, Docked side-by-side or Tabbed (also options for Above or Below existing Docked dialogs). See attached image.
