I'm having a issue with the tail of the note being darker than the leader.
How can I fix this?
Please dont tell me the only way to avoid this is to place a leader then place text.
First place to check is the Dimension Style settings. In the Dimension Styles dialog select the Symbology tab and verify the Weight settings are all the same.

Hey RodWing!
They are indeed the same.
One thing to note is the text is a different color than the leader and we print using an AutoCAD pen table.
AutoCAD plots based off color, not lineweight (unless a polyline).
So what I think may be the issue is that the text is set to print thicker than the leader, but the tail is part of the text so therefore its plotting the same thickness as the text and not the leader.
Your reply raises a few more questions...
1. Is this a dwg format file or dgn?
2. Was the note placed in AutoCAD and now you are editing the file in MicroStation?
3. Has the note been dropped?
so the image is a result from printing ? does it look this way in the actual design file ?
