Could anyone help me here. I am using Bentley view for the first time and I don't yet how to measure the area of a certain drawing. thank you for the response.

On page 4 you'll see what you need.
Use (5) Measure Area and then choose the method of measurement:
Element, Fence, Intersection, Union, Difference Flood and Points.
You can also choose Units.

Thank you. But if i select the Measure Area by "Point" method, i don't know how to close the selection of points to verify the actual measurement of the area. See attached sample. DOCX

After you left mouse button [LMB] on the last point move away the cursor and right mouse button [RMB]. The last segment is automatically closed with a straight line from your last point to the first. You'll get the measurement in two sides: inside the command window popup and in Message Center:
