Is there a way to identify or highlight any lines, points & / or elements in a 2D drawing that are off grid without interrogating each individually?
thanks in advance
First you should tell us what the version of Microstation your using.
In any v8i version or CE versions:
First you can create an closed shape in position of your grid. Then lock this element so you don't edit it. Then you can do a fence clip overlap base on your element. You can saved that to recall enever needed. With that you can move away the fence content so you can select all the desired elements without extras (no needed elements) with select by attributes. From here you can do what you need, copy, delete or move them to another file.
Only in any of the CE versions (and I believe what you're after):
Maybe you can use display rules to achieve that. Create a display rule for elements that are outside the designated space X Y. I haven't done that, but I believe it doable. This way you can highlieht with any aspect you want the element that meet or not meet certain rules.

hi Jose,
V8i Select 3. I'm drawing electrical schematics & need to know that all my connections land on grid points. i am using drawings that have been previously created & would like to be able to open a drawing & run a command of some sort that would highlight lines whose end points don't land on a grid point.
i'm new to microstation & the forum & obviously have a lot to learn about both.
thanks
Where did this grid come from? Is it user generated? Is it just lines or is it a cell? Just how is this "grid" defined?
Is it at known coordinates with a known increment (if so, you could create a VBA to test the end points vs the coordinates).

There is a Utility that will check for Gaps & Overlaps in linework called Data Cleanup. But it doesn't check for off grid (if you are talking about the M-Sta. Grid display).
