is there any way to move vertices from a intersection of line all at once?

I have multiple lines made by simple line (not linestrings) and i need to adjust these lines on correct position. I'm not allowed to merge the lines into linestrings. Also there can be duplicates lines but different layers.

So is there any way to drag the commune vertices for all lines?

  • 10,000 to 15,000 lines was in original post  that will take a very long time to do by  hand,

May I suggest you also make a reference file with a grid square pattern  labelled A to Z  horizontally and  1  to 100 or whatever it works out at then you can work thro manually grid square by grid square and  keep track of what grids the work has been completed and still to complete dont make the grid squares too big just enough to handle the work load... back in the old v7 days I had a similar task to complete when survey import  of  data was slightly wrong and had  to manually adjust locations of text  to prevent  clashes... wasnt as big as 10,000 lines but  took me 30 hours of manually adjusting, nearly 25 years later I still remember the pain  .. .good luck I feel your  pain brother

  • Lorys,
I would point out that the original question was

That is exactly what I illustrated. If they are common vertices, it makes no difference whether there are ten lines or ten thousand lines, this method should work.

I suggested the selection method because Daniel said

i need something that can be use directly. like modify or just a drag of vertex. something very simple

I actually think the fence stretch method MaryB suggested would be better because manipulating selections of large numbers of elements tends to slow the display performance, but this isn't a problem with the fence stretch command since it doesn't display the changes dynamically.

  • Sorry I used the  wrong the reply  button and   made it look as if I was not agreeing with your method, in fact I was suggesting to use Mary's method that you very well  demonstrated how to use that method,

What I was actually trying to suggest was a grid means of keeping track and breaking down the mammoth task of 10,000 or more lines into bite size  pieces to then use the  grips solution with...

  • That's exactly what i needed. I'll try it at work on Monday but I'm sure it will work.

Can i make that "type" of editing default? without having to click on the button all the time? Or is a key-in for that?

    Thank you
