SAVE AS

When doing a "SAVE AS" I want to be able to direct which folder to save in. I use Accudraw shortcuts and want to add a command to the shortcut key-in that opens a specific folder instead of having to search each time.

  • If  your always going to do it to a specific folder, then I know  you can add a script to an f key to the save as command  and it will wait for you to name the file... but not sure how to d it for accudraw keyins,,, lots of   f key combos  available  or even make custom button on your  company interface... but I love F keys if you look up my  past posts F keys Rule man!

  • Hi Dave,

In my opinion it's not possible, I vaguely remember it was discussed in the past several times.

I guess all file operation dialogs remember last used path plus folders defined by MicroStation configuration variables.

To make folder navigation less annoying, you can use:

    • Folder history button available in Save as dialog. It contains both last visited folders and folder(s) defined by (I guess) MS_DEF variable.
    • Favourites location available in Windows.
    • If you need to save a file into another folder but with the same name, you can use key-in $ save as v8 <folder>$(filename(_DGNFILE)), e.g. $ save as v8 C:\workfolder\$(filename(_DGNFILE)) ... be aware of a space between $ and 'save as'.

    With regards,
