I start a 3D file.
I reference in a 2D file.
I place a fence and clip the boundary.
On a fit view, the extents are like the entire design cube. I mean huge.
If I undo the clip then fit view works normally.
Is this a known issue?
Is there a fix? (Besides moving up to the latest version)
If the points of the fence are not all on the same elevation it can cause clipping issues.

Can you give us a sample? When I had XM we didn't really have any issues.
I Hope This Helps Someone Reading This! (Intergraph>PseudoStation>MicroStation user since 1980's)
I also was not able to reproduce this behavior.
An example file would be good to figure this one out.
This is not a known issue relating to MicroStation V8 XM Edition but may be related to your workflow or specific design file. As this version is no longer supported on current versions of Windows we would, of course, suggest upgrading to the latest release, which is available from the Software Download page.
