I've just been wondering lately why this dialogue doesn't have a drop down to allow selection of a text style?
It would sure save some time since my dimension styles are set to use the active text style. Currently I have to go to a separate dialogue to make sure the text style is set properly before placing a dimension. It would be much easier if there was a drop down here to pick it.
so in the example you are showing. Your workflow is to use whatever the active text style is for your dimension style ? So potentially you could have several dimensions in your file with the same dimension style, but different text styles ?

That would be correct. I don't necessarily want to have a different dimension style for every text size I might use, so I don't set one up in my dimension styles and just let it use the active text style. Since that is an option it has just made me wonder why it isn't available to select from the dimension dialogue. The same goes even more so for the Place Note command. I could have many instances where I might want to place leadered notes with different text sizes, but I don't want to set up additional dimension styles for each text size of text if I can just use the active text style.
with place note, the word processor should be open and you can choose a text style, height, etc...
with the dimension tool, is it only the text size you would be changing ? because the workflow you mention would have the potential to have multiple dimensions in a file using the same dimension style, yet have different text styles, which would include different fonts, etc... it would not just be limited to text sizes.
Ah yes that takes care of the place note part with CONNECT edition anyway. We aren't really using CONNECT edition yet so I'm not used to all its operational changes.
I said size because the text styles I have set are mainly just for different sized text. I only have a couple different fonts I'm using, but yes the same placed dimension style could potentially have different sizes and fonts.
are the different text sizes mainly for plot layout ?
