(MICROSTATION CONNECT) Pasted objects coming in at a larger size than original.

I'm trying to copy and paste some object into another drawing and I have the scale set to 1 but when I measure the pasted object its larger than the original object I copied from. Im sure it probably has something to do with the scale but im not familiar with customizing the drawing scale, the drawing units however are the same. (I'm in MICROSTATION CONNECT, I cannot send a sample file, I cannot open any file you may send to help, all objects are 2d elements, nothing is referenced, there are no reference files, everything is in directly in the file, nothing is referenced)

  • Hi Chris!

I just tested the Copy-n-Paste in Connect U7 and it did what I would expect. When I paste from Clipboard, I set the Angle to 0 and the Scale to 1 in the Tool Settings dialog, then Pasted.  Everything came in OK and measures correctly. It measures the same corresponding distance meaning the correct distance in Metric that the Survey Foot would measure. One file was in Survey Feet and the other was in Meter. Both had the same Advanced settings. I went between 2D files/Models and 3D, and even 2D > 3D, and 3D > 2D. I even tried it going from 2D > 3D and different Advanced Units with no real problem. I Assume that when you Paste that you set the Scale & Angle that you are bringing the elements in by before Pasting it in the new file/model.

I Hope This Helps Someone Reading This!  (Intergraph>PseudoStation>MicroStation user since 1980's)

  • Go to settings>design Scale. Make sure your units are the same.

    cheers
