I have received a 3D model from a client created in AECOsim.
I am doing my designs in Microstation V8i Select Series 4.
I am trying to shade back the AECOsim model.
Changing layer colors does not work. Transparency does not seem to work.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

You haven't told us in which version of AECOSim the model was made. V8i generation or CE generation?

Have you check if you have Overrides turn on or off in View Attributes?
If this is not it, please post a small sample file [ in ZIP format to be able to upload ], so everyone can see and find some solution.

Model uses AECOsim Select Series 5.
Do you mean the Level Overrides? Tried it with them on and off.
I did notice while trying to delete some objects to send a sample, I get a message say Building designer has restricted changes to the model.
This may be this issue..Maybe?
Yes, that is it! You found you're own answer.
Ask the person that made the model to open this restriction so you continue your work.
When opening files from other software packages in plain MicroStation you would need to consider that many of the elements designed in those models may not be able to be modified. This particular message is advising you of this. The following Wiki article advises of what sort of considerations you will need to make when opening files produced in AECOsim BD in plain MicroStation.
