Hello, I'm having an issue with a custom line style that I haven't been able to solve. When placing lines with the line style in question sometimes there is an extra rotated portion of the line style that appears a the end of the line (see image below). This item can't be selected and acts like a phantom element, until you drop the line style. Both the white line on the left and the blue line on the right are 10.03125' long and use the exact same custom line style. This happens randomly and doesn't appear to follow a pattern, which makes it difficult to figure out. Does anyone have any ideas?
I've seen that sort of thing a while back with custom linestyles and arcs, but I haven't seen it recently. What version are you running, and do you know where these custom linestyles came from?
Microstation 08.11.09.829Power GeoPak 08.11.09.878Power InRoads 08.11.07.615
As MaryB has suggested the version of MicroStation you are using would be important with the investigations. It would also be helpful if you could at the least provide an example design file that contains this customized line style but the original RSC file would be helpful. Could it be that the custom line style came from a DWG file or was it produce in MicroStation? Any further information you can provide would be most helpful.

When you drop the element, does that phantom element appear in the resulting element set? If the phantom element is not dropped, it could be an artefact introduced by your graphics display. To test that hypothesis, try viewing the same DGN model on a different computer having a different graphics card.

I'm working in Microstation 08.11.09.829 and the line styles are ones we produced internally. The phantom artifact does print and turns into actual graphics when the line style is dropped. I can provide a sample file & the .rsc file, how do I add them to this thread?

Create a ZIP file with your samples and upload the ZIP here.
